Contest Overview

There are no specific size requirements for illustrations when posting on X (Twitter).
Please submit only one image per post.
The choice of illustration tools (digital or traditional) is up to you.
For digital illustrations, please follow the specifications below:
- Size: 4175px (width) × 2976px (height)
  *Equivalent to A4 landscape with an additional 3mm bleed on all sides
- Resolution: 350 dpi
- Color Mode: RGB
- File Format: PSD
For traditional (analog) illustrations, it is recommended to follow the specifications below:
- Canvas size: A4 landscape + 3mm bleed
You may submit multiple entries, but the same work cannot be submitted more than once.
After the results are announced, winning applicant will be asked to submit their artwork data. For digital illustrations, please submit a PSD file with unmerged layers, so be sure to keep the original project file.
For artwork submission details, the official Touhou Danmaku Kagura account (@danmakujp) will contact the winners via DM after the results are announced. Please follow the account and ensure you can receive DMs.
Submitted works must be created by the applicants themselves, and applicants must own all rights to their work.
The following types of entries will not be accepted:
- Works that do not comply with the submission guidelines
- Works that the Organizers determine to be inconsistent with the purpose of the contest
- Works that are missing the designated contest hashtag or have an incorrect hashtag
- Works that infringe, or are likely to infringe, on the intellectual property rights, portrait rights, or other rights of third parties, as determined by the Organizers
- Works that are offensive to public order and morals
- Works containing excessively violent or obscene content
- Works that include personal information or information that could be perceived as personal information
- Works that have already been submitted to other illustration contests
- Other works deemed inappropriate by the Organizers

Submission Guidelines

Unknown X is inviting submissions for an illustration to be featured as the song jacket for the new track, Maiden's Capriccio ～ Dream Battle, in the Touhou Project Officially Approved Derivative Rhythm Action Game, Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost.

Participants in this contest (hereinafter referred to as "Applicants") must read and agree to the following submission guidelines (hereinafter referred to as "Guidelines") before entering the contest.

Unknown X and Alliance Arts inc. (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Organizers") will consider that Applicants have agreed to these Guidelines at the time of submitting their work in accordance with these Guidelines.

The winning entries will be decided through a strict selection by the Organizers.

Important Notices

This campaign is organized by Unknown X and Alliance Arts inc. (hereinafter referred to as the "Organizers")
All entries must be submitted within the specified application period and in accordance with the prescribed submission method (hereinafter referred to as "Submitted Works").
If the applicant is a minor, they must obtain the consent of their legal guardian before applying.
*Please note that once a submission is completed, it cannot be withdrawn or canceled.
By submitting an entry, the applicant provides the Organizers and their designated third parties with permission to freely use the Submitted Work and any accompanying comments. This permission includes reproduction, adaptation, public sharing, and other forms of use, without a set time limit. Additionally, the Organizers or their designated third parties may grant similar permissions to others, if needed.
The Organizers and their designated third parties may capture recordings of the contest results (such as posts on X or broadcasts on YouTube) and may use these photos or videos by sharing, reproducing, adapting, or publishing them across different media. These uses are covered under the permissions granted by applicants. Please understand that once published, these materials cannot be withdrawn.
Applicants shall not exercise moral rights or any other rights regarding the Submitted Works or comments made at the time of submission during the contest period or after the announcement of results.
If it is discovered that the Submitted Works or comments infringe or potentially infringe on the copyrights, privacy rights, or any other rights of a third party, or if deemed necessary by the Organizers, the use of such works may be discontinued.
Applicants agree to follow the submission procedures and the Organizers' policies.
Please ensure that the submitted work is created by the applicant themselves and that the applicant holds the rights to the submitted work. Works that infringe or potentially infringe on third-party copyrights, privacy rights, or any other rights cannot be submitted. In the event that the Submitted Works or comments infringe on the rights of a third party, causing damages to the Organizers or third parties designated by the Organizers, the applicant shall bear full responsibility.
Applicants shall bear all costs and responsibilities for resolving any disputes arising from comments made at the time of submission and shall not cause inconvenience or damage to the Organizers. In the event that the Organizers or third parties designated by the Organizers suffer any damages, the applicant shall be liable for compensating such damages.
Comments submitted during the contest may be featured in posts or streams on social media for the promotion of “Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost.”
To participate in this contest, an X (formerly Twitter) account is required.
When posting through X for this contest, please follow the terms and conditions set forth by X (formerly Twitter).
The Organizers will not bear any costs incurred by the applicant in relation to this contest.
This contest is neither endorsed nor operated by X (formerly Twitter), and X is not involved in this contest in any way.
The contest may be changed or canceled without prior notice.
